It was a free read on my new Kindle Fire as a library loan experience. Otherwise, glad I didn't waste money on the download! ( ) This book was an interesting mix of stories, some much better than others. Overall, I think the shorter format took away from at least a couple of the tales, which would have been better served by more solid intro and giving the authors room for solid character development. If you're looking for quick, sexy stories with a paranormal flare, these aren't bad, but they left me feeling sort of blank... not a lot of sense to a few of them, incidents happening without explanation, and real resolution. Racing the Moon by Michele Hauf was an interesting story of a werewolf and a werecat who find themselves together during the full moon. He can hold off changing with sex and she will summon a demon if she orgasams. This is a recipe for trouble. Its not a bad story, probably 3.5/5 Mate of the Wolf by Karen Whiddon was an interesting story where a wolf meets a vampire and they are attracted, but can their attraction deal with their various issues? Not least of which is her dying friend. 4/5 Lori Devoti's Captured tells the story of an enslaved hellhound who has been bred and bred again trying to hold on to her individuality and pride against a new male who is trying to work out why he has been kidnapped and how he can escape. 3.5/5 Dreamcatcher by Anna Leonard was my favourite read, a story of a woman fighting against a chronic fatigue disease that is actually a paranormal event. Matthew enters her life and helps her fight it but in ways that neither of them expected. I liked how she was willing to try anything to help herself and how she wanted to do things on her own terms. 4/5 Mahina's Storm by Vivi Anna was the story of two people coming to terms with their feelings about each other and how not coming to terms with it would be more dangerous for them than any other choices. 3/5 I found Bonnie Vanak's Broken Souls the weakest for me of the collection, two people who have lost their soul mates find themselves finding comfort in each other, but can two broken people survive together? It's not a bad story but I didn't feel any real empathy for any of the characters. 3/5 Not a bad compilation of stories, in many ways a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to reading more by all of the authors. no reviews | add a review
