Selby’s Secret is about a talking dog named Selby. He would enjoy watching the television and he always understood what the people in the television said and even what he’s owner and other people said, but one day when he was pretending to talk (mouthing) and looking at a reflection of himself, he suddenly discovered he could talk the human language. He wanted to tell his owner but he had a think about what will happen if he tells his owner, will he be made to pick up the phone and answer it like a secretary or will he be in a show or will he even be their servant? Selby then decided to keep it a secret for now. Through the story, Selby goes through many things including being put on a show, talking on the phone, other people hear Selby talk but well Selby be able to keep his secret? Or will he let his secret out and regret forever?

I think this book is interesting because it gives the adventures of a talking dog and trying to keep the secret that he was a talking dog. A talking dog is very extraordinary and finding a story about something that is almost impossible in this world is quite interesting. The adventures of Selby are very amusing and are humorous, like when Selby was on the acrobatic rope. This book is the first series of the Selby sequel and there are more Selby books therefore there will be more adventures that are yet to be seen. This book will be great for you if you enjoy reading about adventure.
