A fun and simple book about 2 brothers; a great beginner/simple word book ( ) This is an adorable story of a boy and his younger brother named, Anthony, or Ant for short. It tells of several events the brothers live through together, such as: Ant writing on his brother's homework or Ant's brother telling a monster to get out from under Ant's bed. It's just two brothers growing up and a glimpse of their life together. Children would enjoy this book because they will relate to it if they have a sibling. Also, most children go through the trials between siblings mentioned in this book. In these four stories, Ant is a pest of a little brother, but he sure knows how to make up for it. These short stories are a great transition book between mastering sounding out and progressing to full-on chapter books. Each story actually has a plot that's interesting, and the resolutions are satisfying. The illustrations (one on almost every page) capture Ant's earnestness and his older brother's varying shades of irritation and admiration. A great book for older siblings who get frustrated with their younger ones, but aren't quite up to reading Beverly Cleary yet. no reviews | add a review
