This is one of my favorite books of all time. I re-read it often and love the illustrations and quotes in French. The prayers are told from the perspective of the animals, and they are enchanting. ( )

Book description
The twenty-seven poems in Prayers From the Ark are spoken by Noah's animals. The poems of The Creatures' Choir are no longer, prayers, in the sense that a prayer is a plea: each animal, bird, fish, reptile, or insect voice makes, as it were, a statement of its situation, its circumstances, what, perhaps, we humans would call its problem.
