The characters or quirky and very Library-ish and I thought this a very creative novella ( ) https://uncannymagazine.com/article/in-the-house-of-the-seven-librarians/ Read for free on the internets. ‘‘Twas delightful. A library in a small town is closed down, but the librarians stay with the books, and then one day, a baby is left in the return slot. The librarians decide to raise the child in the library - but can a child really get everything she needs from books? I loved the premise of this story, and found its execution totally charming.
