This volume includes the winners (Home is the Hangman by Roger Zelazny, San Diego Lightfoot Sue by Tom Reamy and Catch That Zeppelin! by Fritz Leiber) as well as the runners-up. It also includes an excerpt from The Forever War by Joe Haldeman which won the Nebula Award for best novel in 1975. ( )

Ah, the return to old friends. Opening this volume I saw the following titles – “Home is the Hangman”, “Catch That Zeppelin!”, “End Game”, and “Shatterday”. If you follow science fiction at all, you probably already know the authors and the recaps of the stories. Suffice it to say that, if these aren’t considered classics, they are close enough to count. And that speaks to the fact that this is one of the better Nebula collections. The essays are not the strongest of any Nebula collection, and a couple of the stories feel their age. But, not only is this a good collection for any reader, it is one I might also recommend to someone just getting into the genre. ( )
