Les morts peuvent nous rendre plus libres, plus vivants."--Back cover."The words of others were comfort to me. Until the death of my brother, October 14, 2015 in Montreal, I did not see the need to write. Alex's suicide pierced me with grief, put me in a mad rage. Because a suicide such punishment, the absence of the person generates an embarrassing silence that is so prominent, preventing us from remembering happier times. I did not want to shut up. Alex was a flamboyant person. He had a beautiful, full, exciting, life. He loving life. He fought depression. She won. It was vital that I write about his courage and the happiness I had having him as a brother. I did not want to mourn or just give in to desolation. I wanted to invent a joyful way to be sad."--… (more)
