We actually listened to this one during a particularly long car ride. Entertaining. ( )

This book was ok. It kept me interested in what was going to happen next, but it was not epic. It was very typical and too straight forward and left little room for thought. A good book to read to pass the time, but for me, that's pretty much it. ( )

WOW, just finished this book in about 24 hours. I couldn't put it down cuz as others have said, there were so many twists and turns that were unexpected. I really enjoyed this book a lot. ( )

A fast paced Patterson read along the lines of The Women’s Murder Club.

Lauren Stillwell is a detective on the Bronx Homicide Task Force. Her career is going great. Her husband, Paul, works in finance and his career is going great. Their marriage is going great — or is it?

Lauren arrives at Paul’s office building to take him for a surprise lunch. Instead she watches as he escorts a good looking blonde to a taxi and the two take off. It doesn’t look like a business meeting.

As revenge, Lauren decides on a quickie with one of her fellow officers on a night when Paul is out of town on a business trip. The sex is great, but what she witnesses afterwards is terrifying. Between finding out the truth behind the crime she witnesses and keeping her involvement secret, she walks a very fine line.

The pace is fast and the plot twists are shocking. Not a book for the faint of heart. ( )

Enjoyable, a good to help pass mundane time story but not one I'd re-read. ( )

First words
I knew this was a really terrific idea, if I didn't say so myself, surprising Paul for lunch at his office down on Pearl Street.
Jag visste att det var en strålande idé, om jag får säga det själv, att överraska Paul på hans kontor på Pearl Street för att äta lunch med honom.
