Raven's Peak: Book One by Lincoln Cole is a tale of witchcraft and the fight between good and evil. Demons want to rule the world and the council and the hunters work to keep them in hell. Hunter Abigail, trained by her adopted father, the Reverend/Arthur, carries on his mission to do the council's bidding and destroy evil. Raven's Peak is where he fought the Demon. The reverend gave his life to save Abigail from a hell bound Demon. Haatim, a student of theology, joins Abigail in her quest. The book is detailed and well written. The story is sure to be enjoyed by fantasy/good & evil readers and fans of TV shows like Supernatural. Realism When You Need It; Fast-Pace Chills When You Don’t Raven’s Peak is the story of Abigail Dressler, a relatively inexperienced “hunter” charged by a secret society with finding and subduing demons. Faced with threats greater than any she has encountered before, she must ally with Haatim Arison, who is oblivious to his own roots in this peace-keeping crusade. Raven’s Peak finds the perfect blend of realism and the supernatural. It might seem that a book listed in the Occult genre need not worry about realism, but I would argue otherwise. Without a connection to reality, no tension is generated, and Haatim Arison feels quite real as the somewhat soft and overindulged recent college graduate. So, when he is plunged into life-threatening situations beyond his comprehension, you can identify. On the other side of this coin, author Lincoln Cole shows great creativity in the development of the supernatural side of the story. As one with a background in psychology, I particularly enjoyed the demon Belphegor…if it’s appropriate to say you enjoyed a demon. This cast of a clueless human, a somewhat inexperienced hunter, and a collection of essences no one would want to meet on a dark alley move quickly through a fast-paced and exciting plot, making Raven’s Peak a thoroughly enjoyable read. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest, nonreciprocal review. The Raven’s Peak by Lincoln Cole is a novel that will take you to the dark side of this world with its hellish plot and twists. The story revolves around Abigail and Haatim. They find themselves entangled with one another trying to discover the cause behind the suspicious events in the town of Raven's Peak. There is more to the story as they both investigate and find out what lurks around. Abigail will even find a hint to his father's whereabouts. This is definitely my cup of tea! The author wrote a story that will definitely suck you in the story. The writing style and even the way the story was narrated was impressive. The story also shares different information about demons from various religion. The characters were all diverse and flawed too. I like how they slowly develop as the story goes by. Just a heads up, this book ends on a cliffhanger so be ready to grab the next book as you finish reading this. Overall, I recommend this thrilling and interesting fast-paced horror book to people who are into dark and creepy things that involve demons but beware that this book also has some gory scenes that might disturb you. Disclaimer: I received a reader's copy from OnlineBookClub.org Raven’s Peak Author: Lincoln Cole Publisher: Kindle Press Raven’s Peak is a quiet little town with big city issues. When Abigail Dressler is asked to nose around and find out what is causing all the odd noises and happenings, she finds herself involved with things that very few people ever hear about, or realize is real. She, along with her new sidekick Haatim Arison are in for the fight of their lives. Abigail rescued Haatim from being killed even though she wishes she hadn’t at times. She has much more important things to deal with but has no option but to protect him and make certain he doesn’t get hurt, or worse. It takes all of her cunning and training to keep them both out of danger, but it is doubtful that even Abi has what it will take to save them both, and the townspeople of Raven’s Peak from forces that go beyond the understanding of mere humans. -- The main characters Abi and Haatim are very likable and almost ordinary in many ways. The story draws the reader in and keeps them turning the page. The characters are well rounded have, substance and have human weaknesses and strengths. They individually have everything most people have with the added bonus of knowing about things that shouldn’t be real and the need to deal with these things before people get killed or hurt. They are vulnerable in many ways, and both are heartbroken by the death of someone they loved. The story is short, fast paced, well written with the creativeness of the author hinted at in every chapter. Some characters do not play as big of a role as the reader may like, such as Author, Abi’s mentor. Although the book is recommended, unfortunately, the ending leaves too many questions open-ended. The reader may not be willing to continue reading the next book. Raven’s Peak is an entertaining and engaging read with an unusual plot of demons and religion playing a large part in the story. Readers of paranormal or demon based genre stories will enjoy this book and will delight in the victories and decry the defeats of the characters along the way. no reviews | add a review

Abigail is on assignment to fight demons. Her sidekick, Haatim, a college student, unknowingly consents to do a job for a demon. He gets pulled into a world he thought existed only in his college text books. Is it possible demons live among us? Together they set out to hunt demons in a small town, Raven’s Peak. Her goal also is to find her father and find out what happened to him. This is her driving force to keep moving forward. Against the Council’s rules she follows the advice of one of the demons to find her father and in that she finds her past.
Lincoln Cole pulled out all stops for this book. It’s demonic, heroic, and nobody (including children) escapes the possibility of being possess by a demon.
Both characters come alive. Haatim didn’t know what he had to gain or lose when he got himself involved with Abigail. In the beginning all Haatim wanted was a job.
Will Abigail be able to withstand the Council’s punishment they have in store for her for not following their rules? Will Haatim be able to face his father now that he knows what his father is a part of?
After fighting demons Abigail doesn’t seem to be too bothered about having to answer to the Council for her decisions, which Haatim’s father is a part of. Can Haatam influence his father? I can’t wait to read the whole series. ( )
