The first part of the book covers developing leader and covers culture, formation, and character. Part two focuses on how leaders must continuously work on strategy, leading, teams, followers, and communication. The book ends with some information on succession planning, compensation, recognition, personal cost, and five strategies to follow.

This is not an academic work. Readers are advised to use the index to find what nuggets can be used to better their own situation. One chapter ends with Action Steps, Resources, Benchmarks, Communication, and Recognition. If the author has used the format throughout the book, it would have been a much more useful guide.
