Gorgeous writing and an epic and quirky tale. This would be a great family read aloud. ( )

At times the world and magic system confused me a lot, but the fun main characters completely made up for that.

..... Does anybody know WHY I was so sure this book was a graphic novel?
Yesterday I was like "this one is discounted on Amazon so I should buy it straight away. I remember that this is a graphic novel, so the ebook would be a nightmare to read *orders it*" and THE FEELING WHEN I OPENED IT OMG IT HIT ME SO HARD THAT NDJSKSNSHSJ I DON'T KNOW. IF MY NONEXISTENT BOYFRIEND CHEATED ON ME I WOULDN'T BE MORE DISAPPOINTED.
Adding to that, "Brimming with color [...]" "Bursting with color [...]" were a little bit deceiving too idk 😂
I mean, there's only one.single.drawing in the whole book 😂😂 dayum.

A whimsical tale of Alice's quest to find her father in the magical land of Furthermore. I loved the writing style, interrupting narrator and beautifully painted scenes. I loved Alice's determination and histrionics, her self-doubt and her self-love. I liked the moral messages about loving yourself and accepting yourself as an other, even though being different can be difficult. I wish I had this book to read when I was twelve. ( )
