This book would be a good tool for teaching different sorts of poetic terms. This book of dogs contains poetic verse. There are poems of rhyming verse. Poems that would make good models for teaching how to write poems using alliteration, which is the repletion of identical sounds. This book has many pages concerned with assonance which would help a student learn how to use identical vowel sound in different words in close proximity. There are a few couplet poems, and many blank verse poems. I think this book could be used over the year to teach how to write different forms of poetry. Very nice illustrations, and so far one of my favorite poetry books. ( )

This book has poems about dogs, and each poem is for a different breed of dog. There are different types of poems in this book. The illustrations are very interesting as we. I enjoyed the poems I thought they are really cute and easy to read to others. I would suggest this book to other teacher, and I would like to have a copy in my classroom library. ( )

Poetry written in a dog's perspective--what could be better than that? I absolutely loved this book! Each page has a new poem in a different dog breed's perspective. In my experience, I think it very well captures the personality of each dog breed mentioned. It was so cute to see a dog's day in a different way. ( )

Its always nice to read a book in a dog's perspective. The illustrations match the described dogs pretty darn well. ( )
