The monkey is on one island, the bananas are on another and there is a shark in the waters between them. Strong visual storytelling in this nearly wordless book will have kids laughing out loud, and aid help emerging readers ( )

This vividly illustrated, nearly wordless picture book tells the story of a determined monkey’s attempt to get a banana. Unfortunately, the bananas are located on a small island across shark infested waters from the monkey. The monkey’s facial expressions are especially hilarious. This book is sure to be a hit with my students. ( )
