Twenty-year-old Alayna Scott receives visions around water, but even her foresight couldn’t prepare her for the tragic accident that claimed the lives of her parents. With everything she loves gone, Alayna packs up and moves to the small town of Juniper Grove in hopes of starting over. Jayden McKnight can’t explain the attraction that he feels whenever Alayna is near, but he does know that he will do whatever it takes to win her heart. When a vampire selects Alayna as his next victim, Jayden will stop at nothing to ensure her safety – even if that means bringing Alayna into a world that she never knew existed. I received a free copy of this novel from Reader's Favorite in exchange for my honest review.

Destiny Awaits is a story about a young woman that has visions, some of which are of the man she is destined to fall in love with. A year after her parents' tragic deaths, Alayna has decided to start over in the sleepy town of Juniper Grove. Thanks to the help of her realtor, Dominic, she's bought a lovely fixer upper that only requires yard work. A chance meeting with the young man tending to her garden begins stirring a feeling of belonging that she hasn't felt since her parents passed away. An evening stroll turns into an encounter with a vampire, and she quickly learns nothing is quite what it seems in Juniper Grove. Is Jayden the mysterious young man that haunts her visions since she was a little girl? Will Gavin succeed in ending her life?

Destiny Awaits is a wonderful paranormal romance. The descriptions were very detailed, I was able to picture every aspect of the story vividly. The attraction between Jayden and Alayna was instant, and you also watch them grow as a couple. There's some mystery in the story as well, it kept me engrossed and I was really sorry to see the book end. I can't wait for the next book in the series, as I'd love to see more written about Violet, Alayna, Gwen, and Jayden. ( )

I won this book at a giveaway! Yay!

This book took me by like a storm, I started it and then I was finished in record time! And why is that? Because it’s that good, it pulls you in from word one until the last word and you keep wanting more! The plot was full of surprises always holding me on edge, guessing what could happen next. The book has vampires, shifters and a seer. It’s a good mix between it all! The characters are solid!! When you read the book you feel what the characters feel because your right there beside them (I did at least). It’s safe to say that I loved this book and I can’t wait from more from Jaidis Shaw.
So I will reccomend this book to all of you vampires & shifter fans out there :)

Mystery, action, shapshifting, mystical and romantic, this book has that and more.
Alayna Scott has just moved into her house in Juniper Grove. She had enough money to pay cash for the house as her parents had died in the car crash.
Jayden MacKnight has been tending to the yard work and shows up every day to help out. He has a major interest in her.
There is a rose garden with a fountain that brings her peace.
She can see visions of past and future things, her destiny as her mother had once told her. She gets attacked and others come to her rescue and because of the blood the family is not sure what will become of her, what creature and attributes she will get from both creatures. So they keep an eye on her.
Some of her powers have started and the family try to explain it all to her and what to expect in the future.
Love how the explanations are so true to what is going on in their lives.
Some of the clan show up to help but it be not be enough...
So many good memories of her parents are brought out by others who also care for her. They are all going to have to learn
The kitchen scenes bring a smile to my face as I do bake and love doing it.
Lot of strange things happen and things get worse for Alayna. ( )

This is Jaidis Shaw's first novel, as well as the first in what promises to be an entertaining series. We have part love story and part coming of age, with mystery, suspense, and, of course, the parnormal aspects. All of this is woven together into an intriguing plot.

The writing flows well. I enjoyed the overall writing style, and found the book an easy and fun read.

I did have a few minor problems. For me, Alayna needs more development. She was a little too perfect, and accepted things too easily. She is suddenly immersed in a world of shapeshifters and vampires, yet questions very little about any of it. Also, I wanted more details. For instance, throughout the story I was curious how all these people managed to support themselves when none of them worked.

Despite the problem areas, I was compelled to continue reading. I like the world of Juniper Grove and all the characters living there. I'm looking forward to getting to know them better in the next book. ( )
