I'm looking for recommendations for biographies on Churchill and Gandhi. Any thoughts?

The Story of My Experiments With Truth by Gandhi is generally considered to be a brilliant book by Gandhians (I should note here that I haven't read it).

Thanks kaush. Ironically, I picked that book up a month or so ago in an old hardcover form. I'm glad I made the right choice!

Hello adamellen - On Churchill I've read the two volumes of The Last Lion by William Manchester which are to my mind more of an official history. For a more personal and absolutely unique picture I would choose War Diaries 1939-1945 by Lord Alan Alanbrooke Churchill's Chief of Imperial General Staff and daily companion throughout the war. You can read here about the late night drunken meetings, hopeless waste of life strategic ideas and Churchill's agressive supression of others successes in the interest of the Churchill myth.
