Upload actual books?

Greetings. I have been entirely unable to upload a single book to this site. Forgive me if thats not how this works. This may be catalogue/index only. The add books file import implies that I can upload books which I have tried in every format imaginable to no avail (my files are under 20 mb). Is there a way to upload PDFs?

I really want to use this site but will need to give it up if there isnt a sensible way to upload books that I have and desperately need to organize.

Any assistance appreciated, thanks.

>1 a1cterry11:

This is a cataloguing site. You cannot upload ebooks/pdfs/etc.

>1 a1cterry11: The file import is for importing lists of books, not the books themselves.

You store your books locally - on your own computer (or I guess you could use the cloud, somewhere like google drive or dropbox) and then you include the location where the book is stored in your catalogue - you could use the call number field for the file id or the private comments field would be good for links, since then other people can't access it.
