I read this book my senior year of high school(2016) and cannot for the life of me remember much about it.
I seem to recall a group of teenagers were in this broken city where all the people there had to run to their death because a disease forced them to run or running would save their lives from something.
A major plot point I seem to recall is the MC needed to find some medicine or some form of medical help for their sister or close friend.
This could be a red herring or from something else entirely, but there may have been 4 separate clans/groups of people.
I know it is not a lot to go on and I’m not really optimistic about ever finding this book as it has been 8 years and my memory of it is fading, but any help is appreciated!!

>1 flupduck: This sounds like it could be similar to The Maze Runner series. Specifically, the second book, The Scorch Trials, by James Dashner.

>2 KITIkay: thanks for the reply! I believe I have actually found the book since posting.
If I’m not mistaken, it is In The Country of Last Things by Paul Auster! I only read the free excerpt on google but things were definitely ringing a bell.
So my clues weren’t exactly on the money!
