Note that you've all caught me on a very busy week (as is next week). I will be around, but I am busy for the next little bit.

I will admit that if I skip a cat/kit, it's usually this one! If there is enough interest, I will host a month. Just assign me one except January or May.

I will host a month - from June onwards. Middle grade and YA horror please.

I'll host a month--this is one of my favorite Kits :)

Can I do witches, evil spirits, and black magic? Maybe in March or April or June? (whatever works!)

Edited: Nov 10, 2023, 12:19 pm

I'd like to see this continue, it's fun!
Can I have a true crime month, like March or April? If you need a second month later in the year filled, could I do a theme of Contemporary Horror, since there's been such a tremendous boom in new writers over the last five or six years.

Nov 10, 2023, 12:57 pm

Since I love a good zombie story, I will tackle the Corporeal Undead. July or August would work for me.

Nov 10, 2023, 1:08 pm

Thanks, everyone!

I will, of course, take at least one month, two if needed!

I'll start editing the top post to try to fit everyone in where they'd like to be.

9LibraryCin
Nov 10, 2023, 1:17 pm

Can everyone check to see if where I've placed you is ok? (Should be based on what you've said here.)

I just tended to use earlier months to start if you suggested more than one month.

If someone else comes along later and really wants a month already assigned, you can check to see if the person doing that month might be ok with a switch.

>1 LibraryCin: Tess, what topic would you like?

10LibraryCin
Nov 10, 2023, 1:18 pm

>6 mstrust: I haven't filled you in for Contemporary Horror later in the year quite yet. Remind me later if things slow down with people taking months and I forget to come back. Thank you!

>9 LibraryCin: How about haunted houses and graveyards?

I will take September and host Stephen King and family again unless sturlington wants it back.

>15 lowelibrary: No, you take it, and I'm happy to see this Kit continue!

17LibraryCin
Nov 10, 2023, 11:15 pm

I'll do January with Psychological Thrillers.

I have a second topic I'd like to see in there, but I'll let others fill in other months. If it doesn't get taken and we need more hosts, I'll do it, too. (Serial Killers)

18LibraryCin
Nov 11, 2023, 4:27 pm

We still need people for May, June, Oct, Nov, Dec.

Hopefully we have at least three more people who can take a month?

I and >6 mstrust: have already said we'll take a second month if need be.

Thanks!

19antqueen
Nov 11, 2023, 4:45 pm

I'll take May, with graphic novels and short fiction.

20mstrust
Nov 11, 2023, 4:48 pm

I'd be happy to take October with Contemporary Horror.

21LibraryCin
Nov 12, 2023, 5:01 pm

Thank you both! I've filled in your chosen months, and I picked one for my second month, as well.

I am happy to trade either of my months, however, if someone else would like one of them.

We have Nov and Dec left.

22LibraryCin

It does appear we are a small (but hopefully mighty!) group. :-)

Nov 12, 2023, 5:25 pm

>22 LibraryCin:, It's also possible we just don't have all of our number yet.... I know there's been at least one year (maybe last year lol) where I was so busy at this time of year, I didn't make it to the new year's challenge until mid-December, when voting/planning were well past done! Either way, though, this has become my favorite Kit, so I'm so excited!

Nov 12, 2023, 8:59 pm

>23 whitewavedarling: I've been busy this week (and weekend) myself, so good point.

But knowing I was setting this up, I've been making a point of popping over here to try to keep up! :-)

26LibraryCin
Nov 13, 2023, 1:08 pm

>25 whitewavedarling: Thank you! Was hoping to catch up a bit on things today, but I may end up with something going on a later as well. (I still need to pick a topic for the month I volunteered for HistoryCAT, as well.)

It's great to see so many good themes already set for next year. I'm not committing to any cats/kits for next year, but will participate if I happen to be reading something that fits. However, I am willing to host December, and the theme will be Catch Up! Read Something That Fits Any Month's Theme.

I will take a second month and do November. Things with a Bite - Vampires and Werewolves

32VivienneR
Nov 13, 2023, 9:17 pm

I don't read much that fits this KIT but I'll be keeping an eye on all your reading choices. And I might just be able to participate in one or two months.

33LibraryCin
Nov 13, 2023, 9:23 pm

>31 lowelibrary: Yay! Thank you so much! We are full!

Now, it will likely take me a bit to set up the wiki (possibly not till next weekend), but I will get it done!

>32 VivienneR: I hope we will see you around when there's something that appeals!

>30 sturlington: Ha! I guess if it goes a bit late and nothing's posted, that's usually when it occurs to me I should contact someone. :-) Between us, it'll get done, though.

34majkia
Nov 13, 2023, 10:53 pm

I keep an eye on this challenge. I don't read much that fits but I might possibly find something for one month or two. Congrats on getting everything set up!

35beccac220
Nov 15, 2023, 4:29 pm

I'll participate in this one as much as possible! I love all things spooky and have been meaning to get more into the horror genre.

Nov 15, 2023, 10:54 pm

>34 majkia: Will be good to see you pop in!

>35 beccac220: Ahhh, a number of years ago I decided the same thing. I am quite enjoying my venture back into horror! Was a favourite genre in high school, but I'd gotten away from it for a long time.

37Tess_W

Can I change my February to Gothic?

38beccac220
Edited: Nov 16, 2023, 12:05 pm

>36 LibraryCin: Same! It started with Tales from the Crypt graphic novels when I was younger (like 8/9 years old?) My parents might have been a bit worried about me there for a little bit.

Mine was sneaking the Stephen King novels from the older section of my high school library when I was 12 or so!

(But then we are deleting my favourite one! I might change one of mine... We'll see.)

Just picked up an arc of Salt and Broom (not on LT yet) by Sharon Lynn Fisher. A witchy retelling of Jane Eyre. It will fit into February but do I really want to wait until then?!

I am doing the June ScaredyKIT. I wanted to let everyone know I will be away from May 12-18, so right when it would usually be posted. I doubt I'll be ready to post it before I leave, so it will likely be done the 19th or 20th. As a reminder the theme will be "serial killers" if anyone wanted a head start on finding something.

51LibraryCin
May 18, 11:44 pm

OK, I'm back but it will be either Sun or Mon by the time I'm organized to post June's thread. Just wanted to give an update. :-)

Thought I'd get it done right away this morning. Here is June's thread:
