CHELONIIDAE PRESS WAS ESTABLISHED BY ALAN JAMES ROBINSON AND THE BOOKS WERE PRINTED BY HAROLD P. McGRATH, A MASTER PRINTER IF EVER THERE WAS ONE. MORE ABOUT THE PRESS CAN BE FOUND AT THE PRESS WEBSITE, www.cheloniidaepress.com

Thank you for these. I’ve been eyeing their publications for quite a while and last week I finally bought The Raven (1980) when it was 40% off on Bromer.com (browse their stock!)

I could take some pictures if there is some interest and when the book finally arrives in Germany.

For me, the Chelonidae Press is one of the most frustrating. Beautifully designed and flawlessly printed books with superb wood engravings by James Robinson about an endless series of animals and endangered species. Unless you are a chartered member of Greenpeace or PETA, or you simply want to collect books with superb wood engravings of animal and sea life, the Chelonidae Press is off limits.

Incidentally, Harold McGrath was indeed one of America's greatest pressman and was responsible for many of the great private press books from Barry Moser's Pennyroyal Press and Leonard Baskin's Gehenna Press.

Does anybody have copies of Shakespeare’s Beasts and Odd Bestiary and could share some thoughts about the content? I love bestiaries and they are therefore currently on my wish list but without knowing the quality of writing.

It's a pity they refuse to ship to Lithuania... Twain's The Jumping Frog for sale - the starting bid is 109.99$, best offer also available, so it is possible to get an even better deal. This usually sells for at least 300$.

>1 Glacierman: Is it possible for you to scan the page about the deluxe edition of Cheloniidae Press' Jumping frog? Your scan about this book ends with the regular edition. I will receive the deluxe edition later today and will post some pictures. Thank you!
