Our cats are very different. The most recent one only squeaks. She may be part Siamese. I believe Siamese cats have a very different "accent" than most other cats.

Thank you for posting this - it's a really interesting study. Mind you, my cats look at me like I've been smoking drugs if I try to speak their language.

Siamese don't squeak - they yowl! If you don't do what they want straight away, they yowl even louder (a bit like what they used to say about the English abroad).

Could be, but it's rather hard to say. Could simply be "blue" colored. But yeah Siamese are rather loud, lol.

My 3 are all quite different. One (the British shorthair mix) does very scratchy noises (and "coos" when she purrs, sounds like a dang dove), one (the European shorthair) makes fairly soft sounds, and one (the Maine Coon) has a massive repertoire of trills and yells and shouts and mews and all sorts of things and talks forever. XD
