- About My Library
- Only one book is mentioned in Gardner's will, although she almost certainly had others. These may have been granted to her daughter Elizabeth along with "all the rest of my houshold stuff not particularly disposed of in this my will."

- Elizabeth Allen Stone Gardner (c. 1604 - 1681), born in Suffolk, England, but emigrated first to Boston and then moved as an early settler to Hartford, CT. Married Rev. Samuel Stone (1602-1663), teacher of the church at Cambridge (and later teacher and pastor of the First Church at Hartford), before 25 July 1641, and George Gardner (c. 1616-1679), around 1673.
Elizabeth's first husband was among the first settlers of Hartford, and served as chaplain to Mason's troop during the Pequot War. Her second husband, George Gardner, was of Salem and also among the early settlers of Hartford.
Gardner's will is dated 16 June 1681, and her estate inventory was taken 4 January 1682 (totaling £381/0/10). Most of her possessions went to her son Samuel. - Location
