{My Thoughts} – Snow White what a lovely character. I truly enjoy reading about her, she’s just so so wonderful!

The girls are still following the clues they get from the mapestry to try and discover the hidden treasure. X marks the spot right? In this case yes and no. I am always entertained when reading these books.

We get to learn a lot more about Red, Snow, Rapunzel, Cinder, Wolfgang, and Ms. Wicked. These characters and this story blend together so nicely that it is almost like you are reading an original fairy-tale!

The objective in all of these books thus far is for the girls to attempt to find away to save their school and well all of Grimmlandia. Will they be able to? I suppose you’ll need to read the books to find out.

If you enjoy fairy-tales and retellings of classic tales, I am sure you will enjoy these books, I know I certainly do!

{My Thoughts} – Have I ever mentioned, just how much it is that I enjoy reading fairy-tale books/ retellings. This book is no exception to one of my newest likes in the fairy-tale world.

{Cinderella Stays Late} is a book mainly about Cinderella, but it isn’t based on the traditional story. It is about a young girl named Cinderella that has two step-sisters that of course treat her poorly as does her step-mother. But aside from that it’s isn’t like the well known story.

Cinderella is the newest student attending Grimm Academy in Grimmlandia. Grimmlandia is a special place that was created by the Grimm Brothers.

{It is written upon the wall of the great Grimstone Libary:

Something E.V.I.L. this way comes.
To protect all that is born of fairy tale, folktale, and nursery rhyme magic, we have created the realm of Grimmlandia. In the center of this realm, we have built two castiles on opposite ends of a Great Hall, which straddles the Once Upon River. And this haven shall be forever known as Grimm Academy.

~ The Brothers Grimm}

Cinderella gets into a lot of trouble her first week attending the academy, but only because her step-sisters had set her up to be in trouble. She does make some new friends though Red, Rapunzel, and Snow. Her new friends seem to understand that Cinderella isn’t half as bad as her steps try to make her out to be and they also understand that her steps are out to make her life miserable.

Cinderella’s only goal is to not be expelled because it has been her mother’s dream for her to attend the academy, but since her mother had passed away, she didn’t want to let her down. This book mostly helps you to better understand Cinderella and her situation, but it also includes other information about other characters that are well known.

The most important part about this book I think is the information that you learn when you come across the E.V.I.L. Society. This information I do believe is important to understanding the series.

If you enjoy reading about retellings – then I am certain you will enjoy reading this book and most likely the rest of the series.

{My Thoughts} – Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt. She and her brother Apollo are expert marksman. In the beginning of this book there is a birthday celebration for them and they get some custom made arrows from their friends. Also a new boy named Orion that is a mortal is introduced.

Orion is an interesting character that seems to hold Artemis’ attention. She finds him intriguing and wonderful and loves that he too has a dog. However, her first impression of him is poor because he has her dog watch his dog and then doesn’t bother to go and get the dog from her, instead makes her take the dog back to him. Then he goes for the lead in the school play and lies about his ability to do certain things that are required for the part that he wants.

Artemis is really into him and it blinds her ability to see that he isn’t a good person. He isn’t the right person for her, but if that’s the case, then what kind of person is Orion then?

Artemis is a brave Goddess Girl, after all she is the Goddess of the Hunt. However, like Orion she isn’t always as she appears on the outside either, but then what is she really like as well? I think you will want to read the book to find out.

I rally enjoyed reading this book and I am sure that any child that is interested in Greek Mythology will enjoy it as well. I also like that it is a retelling and retelling books are some of the best books I have had the pleasure to read in modern day!

{My thoughts} – I was one of those children growing up that enjoyed watching shows like Xena and Hercules. They were even more fun to watch when they did crossovers. It doesn’t surprise me that I have really enjoyed reading this book. It is based on Greek Mythology and it is incredibly well written. I do believe that any child that wants to learn or read more about Greek Mythology could easily fall in love with this book. I know I have and I already know quite a bit about it.

Athena is a twelve year-old girl that’s lived on Earth all of her life. She has a great family and a best friend named Pallas that is a mortal. It is Pallas family that she lives with and has her entire life. One day she gets a letter summoning her to Mount Olympus Academy and it is signed by Zues. Zues it turns out is her father and he is ready for her to attend school at the school where he is the principal.

She gets there and she begins her new school year at a new school with Godboys and Goddess Girls. She has to overcome the issues of being the new girl and many other things just to try and fit in. I know how difficult it can be to be the new person at school, and with her being the new person at a Godboy and Goddess Girl school, while the expectations for her had dramatically increased.

If you want to learn more about Athena, her new school, her Dad Zues, and a handful of her classmates you should read this book. It is worth the read and then some, it is a fast paced book, that isn’t too terribly long. I am sure my daughter whom is eleven could easily read it in about four hours. This book would make a great gift for any little girl that like Greek Mythology or has shown an interest in it. I also think some little boys may possibly enjoy it as well, I will need to test run it with my nine year-old son.

All and all, I enjoyed the book a lot and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
