Readers follow Tinsley, along with drama and strong romance. The Perfect Sister runs the people, and secrets are revealed bit by bit. The format gets confusing because there are various perspectives, but without the context at times. Nonetheless, the story is supposed to be immersive, with a long playlist to listen to while reading the book, a song per chapter.

I wasn't sure what exactly I was getting into with this one. The synopsis sounded interesting, but I was worried I wasn't going to be the target audience. Was I ever wrong! I really enjoyed this book. The opening line made me laugh, and I knew I was in for a ride. Madison is a great narrator, and she definitely embodies what I'd expect from your stereotypical 'Queen B'. (Seems like some things haven't changed that much since I graduated HS). I have to admit I'm impressed with how captivated Ryan kept me with this murder mystery set against the backdrop of HS drama and teenage angst. Without spoilers lets just say the characters stay true to themselves to the very end, which I appreciate given that most of them are teenagers (and really how much did you change during HS?) Overall definitely recommend!… (more)

Silent Screams is emotional. Although the story could use a little more polishing, it was a very powerful and emotional tale. Just be ready to grab the tissues once in a while as the pain and angst these teens feel coping with the aftermath of a school shooting and their lives in general oozes off the page. Highly recommend for anyone who remembers high school being rough or just wants to feel a little less alone with the things they're struggling with as a teen.
