There’s something passionate in this book that a good editor and multiple revisions could bring out. As it stands, the narration is all over the place. Although written in first person, most of the time the narrator is a young child but every once in awhile she says something that shows she’s writing this as an adult. Yet, we never get her adult perspective on things. This reads like a rough first draft and I would be excited to see what a consistent narrator and some inspired editing could do for this spunky attempt.… (more)
