Nice story with good illustrations! Felt the writing was a felt clunky at times but I loved the facts and opportunities to learn throughout!

Spartan and his friends are going on another adventure in their special ship, The Green Egg. This time, the egg has led them to a special assignment in Bhutan. The friends watch an archery tournament, make new friends, try new food and learn about an animal special to the region, the tiger. They soon learn that the tigers are in danger from poachers and set off into the Himalayan Mountains to help the tigers reach the safety of a preserve.

This is a middle-grade graphic novel with themes of environmental stewardship and inclusivity. I would definitely recommend reading the previous books in the series in order before this one. I was a little lost with The Egg and its powers as well as the characters and their special talents. However, once I was through that, the story was easy to follow. I enjoyed the setting of Bhutan and how the people, customs and landscapes were introduced. While these kids went on an amazing expedition to save tiger cubs that no reader would be able to do, there are suggestions about how anyone can help endangered species such as the tiger. The illustrations are bright and exciting with great expressions. The text is kept at a moderate level which is appropriate for the age and will encourage reluctant readers.

This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

This is a wonderful kids graphic novel. It is very enjoyable. This is the fourth book in the series but I don’t think they have to be read in order. I think one should read all of them because it was a very good story and I want to know more about all the characters. It is fun to see each special power that each kid is given by the egg. I received a copy of this book from Smith Publicity for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

When his friends come to the tree house, Spartan tells them about a book his father found in an old bookstore. According to the old book, with the power of the mind they can communicate with aliens. When they all think about it, an alien comes into the clubhouse. It takes Spartan and his friends on a trip of a life time to the rainforest. This is a fun and educational book about the rainforest. It is one of the most unique books I have ever read. It is laid out in a format similar to that of a comic book, with cells of conversation and colorful illustrations. This format was good because it allowed for more of the wonderful illustrations, but it was also sometimes distracting because I found it hard to tell where to read next. I let my children read it and all of them enjoyed it very much. I would also recommend this book. It is definitely worth the read.

I received this book as an early review copy for my honest review and I have given it. The opinions expressed herein are my own.
