Mastering JavaScript Premium Edition by James Jaworski
Much sound and fury, signifying nothing. This very heavy but poorly planned tome explains very little of the fundamentals needed by a beginner to understand Javascript. This was, I suppose, typical of the hurried publications hoping to cash in on the gold rush at the height of the Internet bubble.

What a waste of trees.
