BF1411 H645m : This is a good one. Funky fonts, genuinely informative, celebrity factoids. Did you know Anthony Perkins only wears laceless shoes because he fears the bad luck of a loose lace? Amusing and useless, right up my ally!
Read as a teenager and did not display this book to my parents! Can't remember a thing about it.
I loved this book when I was a child. Now all I can remember is that the main character is a tween-aged badass, last of a famed training technique that churned out the greatest warriors the universe had ever known. The Legionnaires are betrayed and the main character alone can avenge them, I think?

A 1978 anthology from Pan, including stories by Robert Silverberg, Thomas M. Disch, A.K. Jorgensson, Anne McCaffrey, Brian Aldiss, Hilary Bailey, John Sladek and Michael Moorcock. I’m afraid that despite the stellar array of authors and the potentially interesting subject matter, this is not a great collection; several of the stories depend on a rather rapey concept of consent, the Aldiss contribution is frankly incomprehensible (I see that this is its only publication apart from its original appearance in F&SF) and the Moorcock is an excerpt from Dancers at the End of Time that I already have in two different editions. Hilary Bailey’s “Sisters” is the best of these, and it’s more about bio weapons than sex.… (more)
