The ideal age group for this book would be intermediate children. This book could be used to show the importance of family in the book.

Tanya can't go outside so she goes to talk with her grandmother. Her grandmother is working on making a patchwork quilt. Tanya learns the importance of the quilt. It is filled with the memories that the family makes together. When her grandmother became sick Tanya and her mother worked on the quilt The story ends when the quilt is finished and given to Tanya.
