Eta: The Trial of Logan Gruver by Ibrahim Ashmawey
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Intelligent sci-fi story, intelligent writing. Unfortunately, not enough to keep me engaged. Characters are a little flar. Takes too long to get to the action. Disappointing.

I really enjoyed this book, and considering it's a genre I don't usually gravitate to, I was thoroughly surprised! The story runs along at a really nice pace and it could easily be a single-day-book, if you were so inclined. There were a good number of typos in my copy NB. not actual spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, just two words missing a space between them happened quite a bit, but they didn't interfere with my reading experience at all (however the copy I was sent for Early Reviewers was a digital copy so it's very likely the full version wouldn't have these small issues).
The main characters are really relatable and Ibrahim Ashmawey does a grand job of developing them just enough that you can get attached to them (in particular Logan) but not so much that you can't insert your own creative license in regards to them and make them a little bit your own.
Please don't be put off of this book if you don't consider yourself to be a "sci-fi" fan. That is only really a small element and the background for this book. Instead it is mostly about the people and a whole lot about self discovery and love.
Overall, a very good read and I will definitely be looking forward to more works by Ibrahim in the future!… (more)
