This book not just about finding or relating to 'that special one', but includes relating better to one's self as a means to that end.

This is a book about examining one's feelings and overcoming feelings that inhibit one's progress. It concentrates on attitudes and behaviors that impair relationships. This is a self-help book in the "worst" way.

There is lots of good sounding advice in here, but upon looking at it closer, I wonder. I have a problem with some of it. Trust in his book, is the same as the usual definition of 'unconditional love'. Confounding the two could lead to doing really dumb thing in the name of 'trust'. If I have a teen-ager who is untrustworthy, and I let him take the car anyway, that is both foolish and dangerous.

After that, I felt that I had to read the book much more cautiously, and wondered if there were other errors in the book that I had already swallowed that would injure me.

Some words used in the book:
Trust
Willingness
Transparency
Intention
Leapfrog

The book is full of exercises to improve relationships.

It ends with a 5 step summarly, and follows that with a chapter "Transformational Techniques and Questions."

I think they bring up a lot of great points and almost anyone in a long term relationship could get something out of this book.… (more)

Overall, I like the concepts of openness and honesty with your partner. Reading it definitely engages your mind and desires. However, I’m not sure I track on the idea of exploring a physical relationship with someone other than your partner in a book with “monogamy” in the title…

I love this book! The truth in the stories from everyone is amazing. I don't know if I'd have the courage to be that real. It's very encouraging for other couples to have that level of openness.
